A competitive team builder built for serious VGC players.

A full-stack web application for building and managing competitive Pokémon teams. Supports multiple formats including VGC and Smogon, with EV spread management, item and nature selection, and curated meta spreads.

Problem

Existing team builders like Showdown's teambuilder are functional but not optimized for mobile or casual competitive players. I wanted to build something cleaner, faster, and format-aware.

What I Built

A Next.js app with a full team management UI, Pokémon selection modal with search and format filtering, and a detailed edit modal for each Pokémon.

  • Format-aware Pokémon filtering (VGC Reg I, Reg H, Smogon OU, Pokémon Champions)
  • EV spread sliders with 510-point cap enforcement
  • Nature selection with stat boost/drop preview
  • Curated "Popular EV Spreads" for meta Pokémon
  • Live sprites via PokéAPI
